We offer a range of products that are being utilized in the research field to develop CVD diamond-based quantum applications. Depending on the application, this includes electronic grade SCD with extremely low levels of impurities.
Conventional computer comprises bits, which may be either 0 or 1 at the same time, whereas, a qubit, (i.e., a quantum bit) that is both 0 and 1 at the same time forms the basis of a quantum computer. A quantum computer can perform extremely complex calculations in a short duration of time.
We produce diamond with a point defect, called an N-V center, in which a nitrogen atom takes the place of one carbon atom in the diamond, and a vacancy takes the place of a neighboring carbon. This point defect has an unpaired electron that circulates around the N-V center. This unpaired electron becomes the basis of performing quantum functions, as it can attain a quantum superposition in which it has both spin up and spin down. This could potentially be used as a qubit.
The same N-V center can be used to sense extremely weak magnetic field at ambient temperature, pressures without requiringany cryogenics, vacuum systems, or large applied bias fields. Because of exhibiting quantum properties at ambient temperature and pressures, the N-V centers can be widely used for secure quantum communication and also in other areas - condensed matter physics, neuroscience and living systems biology, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Earth and planetary science, and industrial vector magnetometery.
